Tennis- I started playing tennis when I was a sophomore in high school and immediately fell in love with the sport. In high school I made the state tournament as a senior and won the WTA award. At UW Waukesha I went undefeated in singles over a two year span and won the conference title along with earning a nomination to the UW Waukesha Hall of Fame. At Wisconsin Lutheran College I won two All-Conference Doubles awards and one All-Conference Singles award. Our team won the conference title in 2014. Tennis is something that I am truly passionate about and has taken a lot of determination over the past 6 years. It has taught me a lot about perseverance and competition.

Sword Writer- At UW Waukesha I was a news writer for their paper titled "The Observer." When I transferred to WLC I continued writing for the Sword as primarily a sports writer. Over the past few years I have written several articles, some of which are posted below.

Music- Another passion of mine is music. I am both a guitarist and vocalist. I play small shows around the Milwaukee area and plan on continuing to improve in this craft for the rest of my life. I am a strong believer in the power of music to bring people together. I find it amazing to learn a skill that can bring joy to other people or simply make them think of a memory.

Wildlife- Ever since I was a little kid I have been interested in the natural world, particularly animals. I have furthered this interest by participating in studies for the Wisconsin Society of Ornithology. I enjoy being outdoors and being connected to nature in a way that can be beneficial to both myself and the world around me.

Work experience

Laacke and Joys

August 2009 - June 2010

During my senior year of high school I worked as a sales associate and merchandising manager at Laacke and Joys in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Laacke and Joys is an outdoor equipment and clothing outfitter that specializes in high end apparel. My duties included Personal sales to customers and finding new and appealing ways to show merchandise. One of my notable achievements there was reorganizing the store layout for maximum viewing of on sale merchandise. The new layout vastly improved the sales of marked down merchandise.

Waukesha Tennis Association

June 2011 - August 2014

I worked at Waukesha Tennis Association in summers for three years after high school. Waukesha Tennis Association is one of the area's largest drill programs focused on local high schoolers of varsity level. I started as a junior drill instructor and worked my way up to a senior instructor during my time there. I was responsible for devising lesson plans and taking care of anywhere from eight to sixteen kids at a time.

Milwaukee Tennis Education Foundation

September 2013 - June 2014

Milwaukee Education Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Milwaukee that tutors and teaches tennis to underprivileged students ranging from grade school to high school. I served as a drill instructor there for a year. I was responsible for lesson planning and was involved in the Serves for Summit event which brought professional tennis players Tim Smyzczek, Tennys Sandgren, Ryne Williams, and tennis Kudla to Wisconsin Lutheran College to play a warm up tennis match.
